What is Invisalign^® treatment?

Invisalign® treatment uses virtually invisible, clear plastic aligners to move your teeth into position. These aligners look like thin sports mouthguards and are placed over your top and bottom teeth. You can remove them to eat, brush and floss so they don’t interfere with your lifestyle.

Wondering how Invisalign® aligners can straighten your teeth? At the start of your treatment at Beachside Orthodontics, we use the iTero Element Scanner to take accurate impressions of your teeth. Using these digital impressions, we create custom-made Invisalign® aligners that fit over your teeth. Every week you will need to replace the set of Invisalign aligners you are wearing with a new set. Each set is shaped slightly differently to guide your teeth into position. Over time, the aligners will encourage your teeth to gradually move into a straighter position.

Invisalign® treatment for teens with the mandibular advancement feature uses an advanced version of Invisalign®'s clear aligners to not only straighten teeth but to align a teens jaws. Having correctly aligned jaws is important for successful straightening of teeth, as well as good oral and digestive health. Dr Moate will look at the alignment of your teens jaw at their initial consultation to determine if treatment for jaw alignment is necessary, prior to, or in conjunction with, Invisalign® teeth-straightening treatment.
