Amanda Crilly

Practice Manager/ Treatment Consultant

Amanda is one of our senior Treatment Consultants and the Practice Manager at Beachside Orthodontics. She started her orthodontic career in 2016 as a clinical assistant and knew that this was her new passion. From there, she developed her skills in treatment planning and has been treatment consulting since 2017.

Given her extensive knowledge of the clinic, alongside her organisational skills and impressive work ethic, Amanda was the perfect choice to become BSO’s Practice Manager in 2020.

Amanda completed an Honours degree in Photography at the National Art School and her main focus has always been people and the influence of the world around us. Amanda is a believer in high-quality care and is always working to achieve the desired outcome for our patients.

Amanda and her partner Alex enjoy travelling to colder climates and snowboarding around the world, and also enjoy relaxing days on the beach and coastal walks on the weekend.

Kali Welstead

Dental Hygienist

Kali started her career in the world of Dentistry in 2007, when she moved to Sydney from Victoria. Her first role was as a dental assistant and receptionist in a busy medical centre in Mosman. During this time, she completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting. She then moved into the world of orthodontics and has never looked back.

Kali has been working for Steve for over 10 years now. She initially started as a chairside assistant before deciding that she would like to be on the other side of the chair. After several years of study, she graduated from Newcastle University with a Degree in Oral Health in 2014. She now works full time as a Dental Hygienist at Beachside Orthodontics.

Kali enjoys the rewarding nature of orthodontics, and never tires of seeing the patients' amazing end results. The ever-evolving technology and techniques used at Beachside Orthodontics keep her interested and challenged in her work. Kali is a much-valued member of our staff and is popular with both staff and patients.

In her free time, she enjoys travelling with her fiance, doing yoga, and taking her bull terrier Lenny on coastal walks.

Elisha Maguire

Oral Health Therapist

Born and raised on Sydney’s Northern beaches, Elisha graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Sydney. Following graduation she moved to regional Tamworth, NSW where she gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in treating highly complex dental cases and medically compromised patients. In addition to this, she was also an oral health advocate, promoting healthy lifestyles and oral hygiene habits to the local primary schools.

Throughout the course of her studies, Elisha took a particular interest in orthodontics, preventative and restorative (fillings) dentistry. Furthermore, Elisha was awarded the highly regarded Dental Hygiene Association of Australia Prize (NSW branch). This prize recognises her incredibly high achievements in Dental Hygiene in NSW.

With her dual qualification in both Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy, Elisha also works in a general private practice where she treats all ages in preventative and restorative (fillings) dentistry.

Her gentle approach and exceptionally high standards to clinical work ensures every patient is treated like family.

Outside of her work, Elisha enjoys Pilates, good food and spending time with friends and family.

Teigan Twight

Oral Health Therapist

Teigan graduated as an Oral Health Therapist at the University of Sydney in 2014. This is a dual qualification that allows her to practice all aspects of children’s dentistry along with dental hygiene for all ages. She started working with us in the end of 2018 and has been a valuable asset to the practice and our patients ever since.

Teigan was a patient with us as a teenager which inspired her to start her orthodontic journey. A few years later, she did work experience with us and that motivated her to study Oral Health Therapy and eventually work for Beachside Orthodontics.

Teigan has worked with leading Paediatric Dentists, learning dental and patient care over a number of years. This involved cleaning and treating many children’s teeth, whilst also ensuring that her patients felt safe, happy and comfortable within the dental practice throughout the whole process. This is a skillset which she continues to use today in Beachside Orthodontics.

Teigan has a passion for Oral Health and loves to ensure her patients get the best advice on how to keep their mouths healthy and their smiles happy. Teigan’s enthusiasm for oral care has even seen her travel the world and volunteer in dental clinics to assist underprivileged children.

Teigan and her partner Casey have a beautiful Cocker Spaniel, Ralph, and love training him to do fun new tricks.

Lizzie White

Treatment Coordinator

Lizzie started off her career at Beachside Orthodontics in 2018 and is one of the wonderful Clinical Assistants that you might also see on Reception who welcomes you with a friendly smile.

Lizzie moved from Scotland in 2017 and now calls Australia home. In Scotland Lizzie worked as a Healthcare Assistant for a little over 8 years and has a wealth of experience in patient relations.

With these skills, she is very capable of understanding patients’ needs and will always do her best to accommodate our patients and their families.

When Lizzie is not busy at the front desk, you will find her exploring and camping around Australia in her 4wheel drive with her partner and friends.

Lauren Wiseman

Treatment Consultant

Lauren started her orthodontic career in 2017 as a clinical assistant before working alongside Dr Steve Moate as a Treatment Consultant in 2018. She is passionate about helping patients start their orthodontic journey by providing them with in-depth information and making them feel comfortable with their treatment plan.

Before Lauren worked in orthodontics, she got a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Her passion to help others has always been a strong characteristic of hers and we are lucky to have her at Beachside Orthodontics.

When not in the clinic, Lauren can be found walking her beautiful dog Zowie with her partner or enjoying time with friends.

Kerry Telfer

Receptionist/Clinical Assistant

Kerry joined the clinical team at Beachside at the start of 2020. She has quickly proven to be a very capable Dental Assistant with her bright personality and excellent dental assisting skills. Kerry also works on Reception to assist with your patient journey and patient enquiries.

Kerry has a passion for further education and this is reflected in the courses that she regularly undertakes. She has completed a Youth Mental Health First Aider course as well as having her First Aid qualification, she is also is trained in Medical Emergencies.

Her passion lies in patient care, with her focus being on young people, guiding patients through treatment and explaining every step along the way. Kerry has her Certificate III & IV in Dental Assisting as well as Dental Assisting in Sedation and she has working in the Dental industry for 11 years.

In her free time, Kerry loves to play golf and take weekend trips to the farm, especially in winter so she can relax around an open fire.

Madison Mansion

Clinical Assistant

Madi started working with the clinical team in 2017, she loves the fast paced environment in the clinic and working with such an amazing team (especially Dr Steve Moate).

Over the years she has learnt many skills in the practice and continues to learn the digital technology that the practice integrates to enhance our patients’ experience.

Currently, Madi is studying a Counselling degree which she is really enjoys, her passion has always been in helping others. Madi is a very compassionate person and this is reflected when helping patients start their journey, whether it be an interceptive treatment or starting braces or aligner treatment.

In her free time, Madi likes to spend time with her partner, family and friends, she also enjoys going to the beach in summer.

Caitlin Cox

Clinical Assistant

Catie is one of our friendly Clinical Assistants who has been working in the Orthodontic industry since 2019. Her passion is developing and learning new skills to assist in the process of patients achieving their dream smiles.

In 2020, Catie completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting and is currently completing her Certificate IV in Dental Radiology. Her enthusiasm for learning new skills has made her the ideal staff member to lead our 3D printing program at Beachside Orthodontics.

She enjoys all the challenges of new technology being incorporated into the practice to enhance the patient’s journey.

In her spare time, Catie enjoys going for road trips with her partner and friends, camping on the coast, and spending time at the beach.

Holly Taylor

Clinical Assistant

Holly moved to Australia from Yorkshire in the North of England, in 2013 and has been a part of our clinical team at Beachside Orthodontics for the last 2 years.

Holly came to us with a passion for customer service and over the years this has helped so many of our patients through their orthodontic journey. She is always very happy to see patients finish their treatment with a big smile.

In 2020, Holly completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education. The new skills she developed have given her techniques to ensure that our younger patients having interceptive treatment are at their most comfortable at every stage.

In her spare time, you'll usually find Holly running on Dee Why beach with her Scottish fiancé and they love exploring new places within Australia.

Joey Huang

Clinical Assistant

Joey joined the clinical team at the end of 2022 and is very enthusiastic in providing excellent customer care and educating them on their journey ahead.

Joey grew up in Newcastle for most of her life and came to Sydney for university. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science at the University of Sydney with double majors in Medical Science and Chemistry.

She is an aspiring Dentist and, hopefully, will be a first-year Dental student at the University of Sydney next year in 2024.

In her spare time outside of work, she is trains jiu-jitsu and lift weights as often as five days per week.

Georgia Stanley

Clinical Assistant

Georgia grew up on the Northern Beaches and joined the team at Beachside Orthodontics in July 2022. Prior to this she worked in hospitality and her skills in customer service and caring nature have transferred well to her new career.

Georgia is one of our Clinical Assistants and is motivated to provide the best possible treatment and results for our patients. She has very much enjoyed learning about orthodontics and watching Dr Moate transform our patients' smiles and confidence.

Georgia plans to complete her Certificate lll in Dental Nursing at TAFE next year to learn more and improve her skills even further. She is excited to see what the future holds for her career in Orthodontics, and we are thrilled to have her as part of our team.

In her free time, Georgia enjoys spending time with her dog, Reef, and enjoying the beautiful local beaches.

Skye Jessett

Clinical Assistant

Skye started at Beachside Orthodontics at the end of 2022, and has enjoyed learning new skills and getting to know the fantastic team at Beach Side Orthodontics.

Skye has plenty of experience serving and helping people through customer service over the years. She has a passion for helping people achieve the confident smile they deserve!

Currently, Skye is starting her Bachelor of Media and Communications, majoring in Public Relations at Macquarie University. She is excited to use the various marketing and technological knowledge she will learn in this degree and apply it to her work at Beachside Orthodontics.

On the weekends, Skye enjoys taking her dog Boogie to the beach and going to the gym.

Kirsty Saunders

Clinical Assistant

Kirsty moved to Australia from England in 2014 and started working at Beachside Orthodontics as a clinical assistant at the start of 2023.

Kirsty has experience working in private practices along the Northern beaches, assisting in minor and major dental procedures. Her passion for oral health inspired her to complete her Certificate lll in Dental Assisting at the end of 2022.

Prior to working in the dental industry, Kirsty has always been involved in customer service. Her bright personality makes people feel at ease and comfortable in any setting.

In her spare time, you’ll find Kirsty at the beach, camping or exploring new places with her daughter.
